Are there any restrictions on taking communion at Promise?
We believe … 1) That we and all people “have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
2) That God in his grace sent his Son to pay the price for our offenses, and “the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
3) That Holy Communion is a tangible assurance that we have been forgiven, for the Word declares, “the Body of Christ given for you.”
4) That true repentance and understanding of the nature and purpose of the Sacrament are part of the proper preparation for Communion.
5) That the Body and Blood of Christ are truly present and offered to us in, with , and under the bread and wine.If you hold a differing confession or have any questions about communing at Promise, please speak with the Pastor or Head Elder before the service.
What is the worship service format? Is it traditional or contemporary?
The worship service at Promise is a contemporary service. We strive to communicate the love of Christ through a variety of artistic expressions. Along with a Praise Band and Praise team, we use drama, art, dance and other high impact elements in our services to teach the truth of God’s grace.
Our goal is to provide an environment to worship God and be drawn into His presence. Your freedom for worship is guided mainly by the Holy Spirit. That means, if you are moved to lift your hands in praise, you may. If you are moved to kneel, please feel free to do so.
